I was honestly very pleased with this hotel. The room was clean, breakfast had everything, and the staff were very nice. One little (short) Italian maid was amazing with my room, I tiped her, and she was so modest about it. The walls are tin, but if your neighbours are polite, you will have no problem at all and sleep well.. And if they are not, you can always call reception and complain (which I did, one night and that was that). It's not far from bigger city attractions by metro and bus - I bought one "ticket for a week", and used it to go anywhere I wanted. The longest ride was an hour to the Vatican by bus, or 30 minutes by metro. I preferred bus, just so I can watch the city as I drove by, but you can use metro if you're in a hurry. You have many nice restaurants in 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. Some great tourist attractions are free, so be sure to check that, and for others buy your ticket in advance so you can save some money, and time waiting in line. Hope this review helps to anyone reading it. Enjoy your time in Rome. 😊
We had an outside room which was really cool. Window with old school shutters that fully opened. Rooms spacious and well maintained. Mattress was a little rough, but honestly my only complaint. We were happy with the location but be aware it's a 40 minute walk just to get to the center of Rome if you are sight seeing. There is a bus 5 minutes away if you are comfortable with that type of transportation (very crowded). Staff was great and helpful.
Dnt let the photos fool you. We where 4 in a tiny room, double bed made up of 2x singles pushed together. Very loud at night no such thing as sound proof walls as we could hear everything our nabours where saying didn't sleep well at all. 1 pillow per person and possibility of bed bugs as my kids where complaining about something biting them. Tv had very little signal to none at times even the WiFi was poor. Breakfast was OK nothing grate. Would have rather paid more for better room than have breakfast. Won't be going back
Not impressed at all. Although quaint, there was no AC, tiny room, you could barely turn around in the shower. Elevator was so small, 2 people with their suitcases could not fit. Because there was no AC so we had to sleep with the windows open and could hear gunshots at night. View out our window was of a tire shop yard. Far enough from the center of Rome, taxi fare was $45 to get back to the hotel.
We stayed here for 7 days, the staff were exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was very good,.the staff were great ,my daughter has a glutton free diet so catered for her needs without problems. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable .There is public transport nearby or walking distance is about 45 minutes. The tourist bus is recommended this is very popular.
We spent 7 nights in December at the Rome garden hotel. The hotel is picturesque and the setting nice but the garden rooms have no sound isolation at all.
The positive thing is that you may wake up to the birds chirping if the neighbours are calm, which is quite romantic.
The negative thing is that you wake up to a shouting fest at random hours if your neighbours are sick, a couple with kids or if their marriage is on the brink of collapsing.
The breakfast consist of cereal, croissants, hardboiled eggs, coffee, juice and cakes along with ham, cheeses and sausages. Nothing really to complain about from my part. Feels like a family breakfast. My wife would have liked fried eggs and bacon though.
The staff was very friendly and nice to us but do be aware that some of the staff, like cleaning and so on, do not speak any English. Only the staff your are supposed to encounter speak English.
There are renovations ongoing and changing of the windows in December 2023, because currently they are only single glass windows. But the biggest problem really is the very thin walls of the rooms and you are at the mercy of your neighbours. We actually had 4 different couples in our 7 day stay and one had covid and coughed her lungs out the entire night, one couple kept fighting over their marriage and one family had three kids that kept banging on the walls in the middle of the night.
So, as a result we only had one good nights rest where we woke up at ease to the chirping birds in a really romantic setting in the morning.
We still managed to enjoy our stay and it is located within walking distance to the metro, tram and busses that will take you everywhere you want to go but if we knew the walls would be that thin and the neighbours so loud, we would in all honesty have picked another hotel.
Very nice little place, we were situated just around the corner in another annex building but back to hotel for very good conti breakfast, very nice staff, very clean. Would recommend . It's a 40 minutes walk to the center everything is around 15 minutes walk from there ( colosseum, trevi fountain) . Or catch the number 60 bus from up the street ,opposite side obviously. Rome is well worth a visit especially the Vatican which is stunning inside and out....
We stayed for 6 nights, probably longer than most guests!
Will start with the good points
• Great location, 25 min walk to the Trevi fountain, 15 min walk to the metro, walkable distance to most places.
• Tasty breakfast, plenty of choice!
• Lovely looking hotel.
• Friendly staff.
• Rooms cleaned every day.
• WiFi (we didn't have an issue with the strength)
The not so great!
• Musty smell in the room
• 2 single beds just pushed together to make a double. They kept moving apart!
• 4 pillows for 3 people, when asked for a couple more or just one more, the receptionist said OK after arguing we had enough, then none appeared, when we asked the lady doing the rooms no pillows available!
• Air Conditioning wasn't great for August. it seemed it struggled and was very noisy.
• Soundproofing rooms, not really!
Would we stay here again, probably not, but only due to maybe trying a different area! This hotel is absolutely fine if it's somewhere to lay your head at night! We have an autisic child who liked to retreat to the hotel when tired and overwhelmed, we missed having coffee and tea facilities, but that could be a cultural thing we have come used to!
